Olivia Gysels

Ik ben Olivia Gysels. In 2023 behaalde ik mijn master logopedie aan de KU Leuven. Gedurende mijn stages kreeg ik de kans om verschillende logopedische problematieken te diagnosticeren en te behandelen, zowel bij kinderen als bij volwassenen. Tijdens mijn stage in een groepspraktijk heb ik ervaring opgedaan in het behandelen en diagnosticeren van spraak-, taal- en leerstoornissen bij kinderen. Daarnaast heb ik in het ziekenhuis expertise verworven op het gebied van neurogene communicatie- en slikstoornissen bij volwassenen.  Gedurende mijn studie ontwikkelde ik al snel een bijzondere interesse voor deze neurogene communicatiestoornissen/neurologische aandoeningen. Daarom volg ik momenteel het Interdisciplinair Postgraduaat Neurorevalidatie aan de UGent om mij nog verder in deze problematiek te specialiseren. Daarnaast heb ik ook interesse in articulatieproblemen en afwijkende mondgewoontes. 

Voor mij is het belangrijk om tijdens het therapietraject steeds de wensen en doelen van de patiënt centraal te zetten. Daarnaast hecht ik veel waarde aan het opbouwen van een goede vertrouwensband. Ik geloof bovendien sterk in het belang van een holistische, doch wetenschappelijk onderbouwde, benadering. Ten slotte vind ik het belangrijk om bijscholingen te volgen om mijn logopedische kennis te blijven verdiepen.
